This is a recent HHMI interview of my research and some opinion about my research field.

Since I have just moved to Allen Institute, there is a need to recruit new lab members. The Allen Institute for Brain Science is located in the beautiful Seattle waterfront. This institute is currently expanding its effort to understand better the structure and function of brains.

Job Opportunities

Applications are invited for a few scientist positions in Hanchuan Peng group at Allen Institute for Brain Science. This lab is one of the leading research labs in the fields of large-scale bioimage analysis and informatics, data mining, visualization, and computational neuroscience. These positions are related to image analysis, pattern recognition, data mining, machine learning, and data visualization of large volume of 3D biological imaging data of animal brains and neuronal structures. The research projects will tackle several challenging, but highly rewarding, problems of neuroscience and computer science. The candidates should have a Ph.D. degree in CS, EE, or BME and strong programming skills, and enjoy an interactive research environment.

The positions will be renewable depending on the performance. The compensation will be competitive, along with many excellent benefits.

Applications (in Word, PDF or txt format only) should be emailed to hanchuanp (at) alleninstitute (dot) org with the subject line "Application - Peng Lab" and include (1) a curriculum vitae, (2) a brief statement of research, (3) three best publications, and (4) the names and addresses of three references (including phone numbers and email addresses).

Short-listed candidates may be asked to make themselves available for interview. Traveling expenses for interviewees will be covered.
